Vietnam is revamping its regulations for employing foreign workers with Decree No. 70/2023/ND-CP, signifying a positive stride toward modernization and efficiency. These changes, while primarily semantic, bear implications for businesses looking to attract international talent.
Notable shifts include renaming “Executive Directors” as “CEOs” and simplifying the approval process, with employers now required to notify the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs just 15 days in advance if a local candidate can’t fill the position.
Starting in 2024, positions for foreign workers must be advertised on the Ministry of Labor’s portal, and contractors employing foreign workers will now liaise with the Department of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs.
These changes reflect Vietnam’s commitment to attracting global talent and facilitating foreign labor integration.
